I’ve found the secret to greater breastfeeding success and less stress! Let my 20 plus years of maternal child nursing experience and expertise help you to reach your breastfeeding goals.
Martha was a pioneer of “telelactation” in 2015 while on staff as an advanced practice IBCLC at a medical university hospital. She understood how important it was to provide mothers with support as they struggled with lactation issues and obstacles, and how much could be done remotely. All while keeping mom and newborn baby comfy and safe at home!
Martha was also a key player in attaining a Baby-Friendly USA (BFUSA) designation and subsequent re-designation at this institution (one of the first in the Southeastern states) and subsequently saw the SC breastfeeding rates increase. She is the primary author of an article published in the Journal of Pediatric and Neonatal Nursing (JPNN) chronicling this process, in an effort to assist other hospitals to reach their goals.
With over 25 years in Maternal-Child Health Care including 15 years as a CNM and 10 years as an IBCLC, Martha has devoted her career to the health of mothers and infants.

Martha helped me long-distance with breastfeeding all three of my babies - from 2017 to 2021! I cannot imagine navigating all that comes with breastfeeding without her years of expertise and heart of gold. I first reached out for help when I had mastitis in 2017 and she has since helped me with the first latch to weaning and everything in between with my babies. I am so thankful to have her in our corner; breastfeeding is rarely easy & is such an emotional/physical experience. To hear her calm, reassuring, knowledgeable voice is absolutely crucial in trying times - even to this third time mama! I owe so much of our enjoyable, successful breastfeeding journeys to her and I am forever grateful.

Extremely confident in her ability to assist with breastfeeding and that confidence helped tremendously. Martha was so much more to our experience than just another doctor/nurse. She was very caring, kind and willing to spend the time to do things the right way, Very knowledgeable and we are grateful to have worked with her.
I can not say enough amazing things about Martha. As a first time mom, I tried my best to be as prepared for breastfeeding as possible, but didn't know where to begin. I was connected to Martha through a close friend who had used her services and raved about her. Martha is so easy to talk to and made me feel immediately comfortable the first time we talked. She provided me with so much fantastic information and resources that helped me feel as prepared as I could be. Once my sweet girl arrived, Martha made herself so available for questions and fears as I navigated painful breastfeeding and an eventual lip tie revision. She is worth her weight in gold! I highly recommend her and will use her again in the future!

Martha went above and beyond, taking time out of her busy day to make me feel comfortable learning about lactation and having everything I needed as a new mom. She took extra time to make sure all my questions were answered, and she is truly an asset to MUSC!

Martha helped me in April of 2020 with problems breastfeeding my new daughter. Martha was patient, helpful and very knowledgeable. So knowledgeable in fact that she was able to determine the likely cause of the problem and provide tips to help me with it after a phone conversation. I was feeling so lost and alone during this time of my life because let’s face it, having a baby during a pandemic wasn’t easy. Martha took the time to speak with me as long as I needed, and each time I left the conversation feeling confident and supported. I would have given up breastfeeding if it weren’t for Martha’s help and thanks to her, I went on nursing my daughter for 10 more months. I HIGHLY recommend her services.
